What Is A Running Martingale?  A Running Martingale is designed with a neck strap that circles the base of the neck and a forked strap that attaches to the girth and comes through a loop in the neck strap. The rein runs through a metal ring in each fork, providing a point of leverage that helps teach your horse to yeild to pressure from the rider's hands. When adjusted properly, this martingale does not put pressure on the horse's mouth - pressure only occurs if your horse raises his head too high!
